Kalash and Hunza Valley Tour

Chitral is the capital of the Chitral District, situated on the western bank of the Kunar River (also called Chitral River). The town is at the foot of Tirich Mir, the highest peak of the Hindu Kush, 25,289 ft (7,708 m) high.

Itinerary:

Day 01: Islamabad

Arrival at the airport in Islamabad, our guide and driver will pick you here and transfer to the hotel for overnight.

Day 02: Islamabad – Chitral

Departure for Chitral, today’s drive will be a bit long but very exciting, en-route we will stop at the pasthon villages of lower and upper Dir, arrive and transfer to the hotel.

Day 03: Chitral – Bumboret Kalash valley

Departure for Kalash valley, arrive and transfer to the hotel.

Day 04: Bumboret

Day to explore around the village and meet the Kalasha familes, in the evening back to the hotel.

Day 05: Bumboret – Rumbor Kalash valley

Drive to Rumbor, arrive and transfer to the guest house, rest of the day to explore the village and meet the Kalasha familes.

Day 06: Rumbor – Mustuj

Departure for Mastuj, Arrival and transfer to the hotel for overnight.

Day 07: Mustuj – Phundar

Early morning departure for pander valle via 3700m Shandur pass which is often called “Roof of the world” and famous for the free style polo game, arrive and transfer to the hotel.

Day 08: Phundar – Karimabad

Departure for Karimabad, stop en-rouet at Rakaposhi 7788m view point for lunch and photography, arrive and transfer to the hotel for overnight.

Day 09: Karimabad

Day to visit Baltit Fort, Altit Fort, Kariamabd local bazzar and channel walk through Karimabad in the evening.

Day 10: Karimabad – Hopepr glacier – Duiker

Day excrusion to Hopper glacier, in the evening drive back to Duiker to see the sunset, later drive to the hotel in Karimabad.

Day 11: Karimabad – Besham

Departure for Besham on the Karakorum Highway, arrive and transfer to the hotel for overnight.

Day 12: Besham – Islamabad

Habibullah then the ministry for Education. Sir John Marshall who was going to be retired from the post of Director General of Archaeological survey of India in 1928, could not complete its original plan. The government of Pakistan constructed the northern gallery in 1998. There are 4000 objects displayed, including stone, stucco, terracotta, silver, gold, iron and semiprecious stones. Mainly the display consists of objects from the period 600 B.C to 500 AD. Buddhist, hindu and Jain cults are well represented through these objects discovered from three ancient cities and more than two dozen buddhist stupas and monasteries and Greek temples. Taxila Museum is located 35 km from Islamabad on the Grand Trunk Road to Peshawar. It is famous for remains of Gandhara art. Most of the sites at Taxila, dating back 600 BCE to 500 CE, are located around the Taxila Museum. Overnight at the hotel in Islamabad/Rawalpindi

Day 13: Islamabad – Fly to destination

Explore the Islamabad city visiting Faisal Mosque, Margala Hills, Shaker Pariya, Evening drive to the airport and fly to destination.
