- A valid passport is required for international travellers. Passport validity should meet the requirements applicable to the traveller's nationality and Pakistan visa application.
- Most foreign travellers require a Pakistan visa before travelling. Visa requirements vary according to nationality and can change, so travellers should check the current requirements applicable to their passport before booking flights.
- Spring in Gilgit-Baltistan is generally from March to April according to the Hunza Explorers seasonal calendar.
- Cherry, apricot and other fruit blossom do not appear on an exact fixed date every year. Flowering varies according to elevation, temperature and local weather conditions.
- March and April can still be cold in Skardu, Hunza and other mountain areas, particularly in the mornings and evenings. Warm layers are recommended.
- Weather conditions can change quickly in the mountains. Travellers should be prepared for cold temperatures, rain and occasional snow during the spring season.
- Road conditions can change because of snowfall, landslides, rockfall, rain or other weather-related conditions. Travel times may therefore vary.
- Access to higher mountain areas and passes can be restricted by winter conditions during early spring. The operational route will depend on actual road and weather conditions.
- The journey includes travel at altitude. Travellers should remain aware of the effects of altitude, stay hydrated and allow their bodies time to adjust.
- Travellers with existing medical conditions should consult their doctor before travelling to high-altitude mountain regions.
- Comfortable walking shoes with good grip are recommended for visits to historic sites, villages and uneven mountain paths.
- Warm clothing, a waterproof outer layer, sunglasses, sunscreen and personal medication are recommended.
- Blossom-focused travel requires flexibility. The exact flowering stage can differ between Skardu, Hunza and individual villages because of differences in elevation and local weather.
