Welcome to Pakistan! Upon arrival at Islamabad International Airport, we warmly welcome you and transfer you to your hotel in Islamabad, the country's modern and beautifully planned capital. Nestled against the picturesque Margalla Hills, Islamabad offers the perfect introduction to the journey that awaits through the magnificent landscapes of Hunza Valley and Gojal (Upper Hunza).

Depending on your flight arrival time, we begin exploring some of the city's most iconic landmarks. We visit the magnificent Faisal Mosque, one of the largest and most beautiful mosques in the world, before continuing to the scenic Daman-e-Koh Viewpoint, where panoramic views stretch across the capital and the surrounding hills. If time permits, we may also visit the impressive Pakistan Monument, browse traditional handicrafts at Lok Virsa Museum, or enjoy some leisure time at Centaurus Mall.

If your flight arrives later in the day, we transfer directly to the hotel, allowing time to relax after your international journey and prepare for the exciting adventure ahead.

In the evening, we gather for a welcome briefing, where we introduce the itinerary, answer any questions, and provide useful information about travelling through Hunza Valley and Gojal (Upper Hunza) during the spectacular autumn season.

After an early breakfast, we transfer to Islamabad International Airport for one of the world's most spectacular mountain flights to Gilgit. Weather permitting, the flight offers breathtaking aerial views of the mighty Himalayas, Karakoram, and Hindu Kush, including the magnificent Nanga Parbat (8,126 m), the world's ninth-highest mountain.

Upon arrival in Gilgit, we continue our journey along the legendary Karakoram Highway, following the beautiful Hunza River towards Karimabad, the historic capital of the former Hunza State. Along the way, we pass dramatic mountain scenery, traditional villages, fertile valleys, and towering peaks before reaching the heart of Hunza Valley, where colourful autumn foliage begins to transform the landscape.

After checking in to our hotel, the remainder of the day is free to relax or enjoy a leisurely walk around Karimabad, where the first golden poplar trees and colourful orchards provide a wonderful introduction to the autumn colours of Hunza Valley.

If the flight to Gilgit is cancelled due to weather or operational reasons, we will continue our journey by road. During the autumn season, if the Babusar Pass is open, we will travel via the scenic Kaghan Valley and spend the night in Naran. If the Babusar Pass is closed, we will travel south along the legendary Karakoram Highway, staying overnight in either Besham or Chilas, depending on road conditions, departure time, and overall travel progress. Our journey to Karimabad will continue the following day.

If our flight to Gilgit operated as scheduled on Day 2

After breakfast, we spend the day exploring Karimabad, the historic capital of the former Hunza State and one of Pakistan's most beautiful mountain towns. Autumn transforms the surrounding orchards into a spectacular display of golden poplar trees, fiery apricot leaves, colourful walnut groves, and vibrant apple orchards, creating one of the finest autumn landscapes in Hunza Valley.

We begin our exploration with a visit to the magnificent Baltit Fort, a beautifully restored 700-year-old fortress overlooking Hunza Valley. From its terraces, we enjoy breathtaking panoramic views of the colourful valley below and the towering peaks of Rakaposhi (7,788 m), Ultar Sar (7,388 m), and Ladyfinger Peak (Bublimotin).

We then continue to the historic Altit Fort, one of the oldest surviving forts in Gilgit-Baltistan, followed by a relaxing walk through the beautifully maintained Altit Royal Garden. During autumn, the surrounding orchards glow in brilliant shades of gold, orange, and crimson, making this one of the most picturesque locations in Hunza Valley.

Later, we stroll through the lively Karimabad Bazaar, where we can browse traditional handicrafts, gemstones, handwoven carpets, locally produced dried fruits, and other regional products while experiencing the warm hospitality of the local community.

After a memorable day exploring the cultural heritage and spectacular autumn scenery of Karimabad, we return to our hotel for an overnight stay.

If our flight to Gilgit was cancelled on Day 2

After breakfast, we continue our scenic drive north along the legendary Karakoram Highway or via the Babusar Pass (if travelling through Naran), depending on the route taken the previous day. Following the Indus River before entering the magnificent landscapes of Hunza Valley, we arrive in Karimabad during the afternoon. After checking in to our hotel, the remainder of the day is at leisure to relax or enjoy the peaceful mountain surroundings.

After breakfast, we leave Karimabad behind and cross the Hunza River into Nagar Valley, where we visit the beautiful Hopar Valley, one of the region's most spectacular autumn destinations. Surrounded by colourful poplar, apricot, walnut, and apple trees, the village offers breathtaking views of the impressive Hopar Glacier, Barpu Glacier, and the snow-covered peaks of the Karakoram. We spend time walking through the village, enjoying the crisp mountain air, photographing the vibrant autumn colours, and experiencing the peaceful atmosphere of this hidden gem.

We then return to the legendary Karakoram Highway and continue our journey towards Gojal (Upper Hunza). Along the way, we stop at the magnificent Attabad Lake, where the turquoise waters beautifully reflect the surrounding golden forests and rugged mountains. This iconic lake is one of the highlights of every journey through Hunza Valley, and autumn offers some of its most spectacular scenery.

Continuing deeper into Upper Hunza, we arrive in the charming village of Shishkat, where colourful orchards and towering poplar trees create a stunning autumn landscape beneath the snow-capped peaks of the Karakoram. Depending on our arrival time, we enjoy a leisurely walk through the village, meeting local residents and soaking in the peaceful atmosphere before checking in to our hotel.

As evening falls, we relax and enjoy the tranquillity of Shishkat, our gateway to the remarkable autumn landscapes of Gojal Valley.

After breakfast, we spend the day exploring the colourful villages of Gojal (Upper Hunza), where autumn paints the landscape in brilliant shades of gold, amber, orange, and crimson. Surrounded by the towering peaks of the Karakoram, today's journey offers the perfect combination of breathtaking scenery, authentic village life, and remarkable natural attractions.

We begin with a leisurely walk through the charming villages of Shishkat, Gulmit, and Ghulkin, where tree-lined lanes, traditional Wakhi houses, and centuries-old orchards create one of the most beautiful autumn landscapes in Pakistan. The golden poplar trees, colourful apricot orchards, walnut groves, and willow-lined fields provide endless opportunities for photography while offering an authentic glimpse into the daily life and culture of the Wakhi people.

We then continue to Upper Borith, where we begin a rewarding hike to the magnificent Passu White Glacier. The trail passes through dramatic mountain scenery before reaching the glacier, where spectacular views unfold across the surrounding landscape. From here, we enjoy breathtaking panoramas of the iconic Passu Cones, Shishper Peak, the mighty Passu Glacier, and the impressive Batura Glacier, creating one of the finest viewpoints in Upper Hunza.

After returning from the hike, we stop at the peaceful Borith Lake, a beautiful alpine lake surrounded by colourful autumn foliage and dramatic mountain scenery. The calm waters, framed by golden poplar trees and rugged peaks, make this one of the most picturesque locations in Gojal Valley.

In the afternoon, we visit the famous Hussaini Suspension Bridge, one of Pakistan's most iconic mountain bridges. Spanning the Hunza River, the bridge offers unforgettable views of the Passu Glacier, Batura Glacier, and the striking Passu Cones, while the surrounding autumn colours create an extraordinary setting for photography.

After a memorable day immersed in the spectacular autumn landscapes of Upper Hunza, we return to our hotel in Shishkat for a relaxing evening.

After an early breakfast, we set out on an unforgettable full-day journey through the northernmost reaches of Gojal (Upper Hunza), following the legendary Karakoram Highway towards the spectacular Khunjerab Pass (4,693 m), the highest paved international border crossing in the world.

As we travel north, the scenery becomes increasingly dramatic. The colourful autumn forests gradually give way to vast alpine meadows, rugged mountain slopes, and the high-altitude landscapes of Khunjerab National Park. Along the way, we pass through the beautiful villages of Passu, Khyber, and Sost, where brilliant golden poplar trees, colourful orchards, and traditional Wakhi homes create some of the finest autumn scenery in Upper Hunza.

Upon entering Khunjerab National Park, we keep an eye out for wildlife such as the Himalayan Ibex, Blue Sheep, Golden Marmot, and Golden Eagle, while enjoying magnificent views of the surrounding peaks of the Karakoram. Reaching Khunjerab Pass, we have time to explore the Pakistan–China border, take photographs at the famous border gate, and appreciate the unique atmosphere of one of the highest international crossings on Earth.

On our return journey, we slow the pace to fully appreciate the spectacular autumn colours that make Upper Gojal one of Pakistan's premier autumn destinations. We stop at some of the most scenic villages and viewpoints, where vibrant poplar avenues, colourful orchards, crystal-clear rivers, and traditional stone houses create postcard-perfect landscapes. With the golden afternoon light illuminating the valleys, there will be plenty of opportunities to capture unforgettable photographs and simply enjoy the peaceful beauty of the season.

By evening, we return to Shishkat, bringing another memorable day of autumn colours, mountain scenery, and cultural discoveries to a close.

After breakfast, we bid farewell to the colourful villages of Gojal (Upper Hunza) and begin our return journey along the legendary Karakoram Highway, leaving behind the golden forests, snow-capped peaks, and warm hospitality that make this region so unforgettable.

Travelling south through Hunza Valley, we once again pass the turquoise waters of Attabad Lake, whose striking blue waters beautifully contrast with the vibrant autumn colours surrounding its shoreline. As we continue along the Karakoram Highway, the route follows the mighty Hunza River before joining the spectacular Indus River, offering breathtaking scenery throughout the day.

We make several stops at scenic viewpoints and local cafés, allowing time to enjoy the magnificent landscapes, capture photographs, and savour one last day in the mountains. Every bend in the road reveals dramatic cliffs, towering peaks, picturesque villages, and ever-changing river valleys, making this one of the most scenic road journeys in Pakistan.

Depending on the season and road conditions, we continue to Naran Valley via the Babusar Pass when it is open, allowing us to enjoy another spectacular mountain route before reaching our hotel. If the Babusar Pass is closed, we remain on the Karakoram Highway and continue to Besham for our overnight stay.

After checking in to our hotel, we enjoy a relaxing evening reflecting on the unforgettable experiences and spectacular autumn landscapes of Hunza Valley and Gojal (Upper Hunza).

After breakfast, we leave Naran Valley or Besham and continue our journey towards Islamabad, enjoying the changing scenery as we descend from the mountains into the plains of northern Pakistan.

En route, we visit the renowned Taxila Museum, home to one of the finest collections of Gandhara Buddhist art and archaeological treasures in South Asia. The museum provides an excellent introduction to the history of Taxila, a UNESCO World Heritage Site that flourished for centuries as one of Asia's great centres of learning, trade, and civilisation along the ancient Silk Routes.

Continuing to Islamabad, we explore some of the capital's most iconic landmarks. We visit the magnificent Faisal Mosque, one of the largest mosques in the world, before heading to Daman-e-Koh Viewpoint, where sweeping views overlook the city and the surrounding Margalla Hills. If time allows, we also visit the impressive Pakistan Monument, browse the fascinating exhibits at Lok Virsa Museum, or enjoy some free time at Centaurus Mall for shopping and refreshments.

After checking in to our hotel, we enjoy our final evening together, reflecting on the unforgettable memories created while exploring the spectacular autumn landscapes of Gojal (Upper Hunza) and Hunza Valley.

After breakfast, enjoy a leisurely morning at your hotel before checking out. Depending on your international flight schedule, we continue exploring Islamabad, giving you the opportunity to discover more of Pakistan's modern capital before your departure.

If time permits, we visit additional attractions such as the impressive Pakistan Monument, which symbolises the unity and diversity of the nation, and the fascinating Pakistan Monument Museum, showcasing the country's rich history and heritage. We may also explore the cultural exhibits at Lok Virsa Museum, enjoy some last-minute shopping at Centaurus Mall, or visit one of Islamabad's popular local markets to pick up souvenirs and locally crafted products.

At the appropriate time, we transfer to Islamabad International Airport for your onward flight.
