Upon arrival in Islamabad, our team will be at the airport to welcome you and transfer you to the hotel. The schedule for the day will depend on the arrival time. If you arrive in the morning, you will check in to the hotel for a short rest before heading out for a guided city tour.
We will visit some of Islamabad’s most iconic landmarks, starting with the Faisal Mosque, the largest mosque in Pakistan, renowned for its unique modern architecture. From there, we proceed to the Pakistan Monument, a national symbol representing the unity of Pakistan, offering breathtaking views of the city. Our next stop will be Lok Virsa Museum, where you will get an opportunity to explore Pakistan’s rich cultural heritage, traditional crafts, and historical artifacts. In the evening, we will take a scenic drive to the Margalla Hills, offering a spectacular panoramic view of Islamabad as the city lights begin to illuminate the skyline. The peaceful ambiance of the hills provides the perfect setting to relax after a long journey.
For those arriving in the afternoon, evening, or late at night, we will transfer you directly to the hotel for check-in and rest. Travelers arriving early in the day may also have the option to join a welcome dinner at a local restaurant, where they can enjoy traditional Pakistani cuisine while meeting their fellow trekkers and the expedition team. Drive to the airport in Islamabad and fly to Skardu, arrive and start preparing for the trek
Paticipants will explore around, our staff will take care of required documents by the government offices in Skardu, the process can take upto 2 days there, in case of the delay in documentation we will adjust the extra days here we have on return from the trek.
The journey to base camp is not always easy. There are numerous challenges along the way – the weather and rugged terrain to name a few – that need to be treated with seriousness and respect. That being said, the trek to K2 Base Camp is still very doable and can be undertaken by anyone who has the right attitude. Crossing the Gondogoro La Pass is technical, it requires a good fitness, experience and acclimatization
