About this tour

Embark on a breathtaking adventure with Hunza Explorers as we guide you through the Shimshal Pass / Pamir Trek in the mesmerizing Hunza Valley. This trek takes you to the high-altitude Shimshal Pass, standing proudly at 4,735 meters. The pass boasts a rich history, once used by raiders from Hunza to target caravans journeying between Leh and Yarkand. Renowned explorer Francis Younghusband is believed to be one of the first Englishmen to reach this pass in 1889.

As you traverse the Shimshal Braldu River valley, you’ll witness the awe-inspiring landscapes and experience the unique cultural heritage of the Shimshal community. The pass, situated on the watershed between the Indus River and Tarim River basins, offers panoramic views that will leave you spellbound. Managed by the Shimshal Nature Trust (SNT), a community-based organization registered with the Government of Pakistan, the trek ensures responsible tourism and conservation of the pristine surroundings.
