Upon arrival at Islamabad International Airport, we welcome you and transfer you to your hotel in Pakistan's beautiful capital. The remainder of the day depends entirely on your flight arrival time. After checking in, you may simply relax and recover from your journey or, if time permits, begin exploring some of Islamabad's main attractions. Depending on your arrival schedule, we may visit the magnificent Faisal Mosque, enjoy panoramic views from Daman-e-Koh, explore the Pakistan Monument, visit the Lok Virsa Museum, or take a leisurely walk through one of the city's beautiful parks and markets.

This flexible first day allows you to settle comfortably before beginning our unforgettable journey through the spectacular autumn landscapes of Gilgit-Baltistan.

After an early breakfast, we transfer to Islamabad International Airport for our scenic flight to Skardu, one of the most spectacular mountain flights in the world. Weather permitting, the journey offers unforgettable aerial views of the Himalayas, Nanga Parbat (8,126 m), the Karakoram, and countless snow-covered peaks before landing in the breathtaking valley of Skardu.

Upon arrival, we begin our drive east through the beautiful landscapes of Baltistan towards the historic town of Khaplu. Following the Shyok River, the route passes traditional Balti villages, fertile valleys, colourful poplar groves, and orchards glowing in magnificent shades of gold, orange, and crimson, offering a wonderful introduction to the autumn beauty of the region.

By afternoon, we arrive in Khaplu, one of the most picturesque valleys in Gilgit-Baltistan. After checking in to our hotel, the remainder of the day is free to relax or enjoy a leisurely walk around the village if time permits, soaking in the peaceful atmosphere and colourful autumn scenery.

Important: If the flight to Skardu is cancelled due to weather, we will begin our overland journey via the Karakoram Highway and travel towards Chilas or Besham, depending on road conditions and travel progress. The itinerary will be adjusted accordingly while ensuring you experience all major highlights of the tour.

After breakfast, we spend the day exploring the remarkable beauty, history, and culture of Khaplu Valley, one of the most picturesque destinations in Baltistan during the autumn season. Surrounded by golden poplar trees, colourful orchards, and snow-covered peaks, the valley offers a perfect introduction to the rich heritage of northern Pakistan.

Our exploration begins at the beautifully restored Khaplu Fort, an architectural masterpiece dating back to the 19th century that once served as the royal residence of the former rulers of Khaplu. Overlooking the valley, the fort provides spectacular views of the surrounding autumn landscape while offering fascinating insights into Balti history, architecture, and culture.

We then stroll through the traditional village of Khaplu, where narrow lanes, stone houses, colourful orchards, and welcoming local communities reflect the authentic character of the region. During autumn, apricot, apple, walnut, and poplar trees transform the valley into a vibrant display of gold, orange, and crimson, making it one of the finest photography locations in Gilgit-Baltistan.

Our journey continues with a visit to the historic Chaqchan Mosque, one of the oldest mosques in Gilgit-Baltistan, renowned for its remarkable blend of Tibetan, Persian, and Kashmiri architectural styles. We also spend time exploring the surrounding orchards and scenic viewpoints, enjoying the peaceful atmosphere that makes Khaplu Valley so special during the autumn months.

Later in the afternoon, we return to our hotel and enjoy the remainder of the day at leisure, surrounded by the spectacular landscapes of Baltistan.

Important: If the flight to Skardu was cancelled on the previous day, today will be used to complete the overland journey to Skardu and continue to Khaplu, ensuring the itinerary resumes smoothly.

After breakfast, we bid farewell to Khaplu Valley and begin our scenic drive towards Skardu, travelling through the heart of Baltistan as brilliant autumn colours accompany us throughout the journey. Golden poplar trees, colourful apricot and apple orchards, traditional Balti villages, and the rugged peaks of the Karakoram create spectacular scenery at every turn, making this one of the most photogenic drives of the tour.

Our first major stop is the beautiful Shigar Valley, where we visit the magnificent Shigar Fort, a beautifully restored 17th-century palace that once served as the residence of the Amacha Dynasty. Surrounded by vibrant autumn foliage, traditional gardens, and the historic village of Shigar, the fort offers a fascinating insight into Baltistan's royal heritage while providing outstanding opportunities for autumn photography.

After breakfast, we leave Skardu and begin our journey towards the legendary Hunza Valley. Before joining the Karakoram Highway, we visit the beautiful Upper Kachura Lake, where the calm turquoise waters are framed by golden poplar trees, colourful orchards, and the snow-covered peaks of the Karakoram, creating one of the most picturesque autumn scenes in Gilgit-Baltistan.

Continuing towards the Karakoram Highway, we make a stop at the historic Ancient Silk Road rock carvings, remarkable reminders of the traders, pilgrims, and explorers who travelled this legendary route for centuries. Rejoining the highway, we continue through some of Pakistan's most spectacular mountain scenery, following the mighty Indus River before entering the heart of the Hunza Valley.

En route, we stop at the famous Rakaposhi View Point, where the magnificent Rakaposhi (7,788 m) dominates the skyline above colourful autumn forests and fertile valleys. After breakfast, we spend the day exploring Karimabad, the historic heart of the Hunza Valley and one of the most beautiful destinations in Gilgit-Baltistan during the autumn season. Surrounded by colourful orchards and overlooked by the magnificent peaks of Rakaposhi, Ultar Sar, and Ladyfinger Peak, the town offers a perfect blend of history, culture, and breathtaking mountain scenery.

Our exploration begins at the iconic Baltit Fort, a 700-year-old fortress perched above the valley. Once the royal residence of the former rulers of Hunza, the fort offers fascinating insights into the region's history while rewarding us with panoramic views of Karimabad dressed in brilliant autumn colours.

After breakfast, we leave Karimabad and cross the Hunza River into the beautiful Nagar Valley, where we travel to the spectacular Hopar Valley. Surrounded by colourful autumn orchards, traditional villages, and some of the highest peaks in the Karakoram, the valley offers breathtaking panoramic views of the magnificent Hopar Glacier and Barpu Glacier, making it one of the highlights of the journey through Gilgit-Baltistan.

After spending time enjoying the scenery and capturing the spectacular autumn landscapes of Hopar Valley, we return to the Karakoram Highway and continue towards Upper Hunza (Gojal Valley).

Our day begins in the beautiful villages of Gulmit and Ghulkin, where we stroll through peaceful lanes lined with apricot, apple, walnut, and poplar trees glowing in brilliant shades of gold, orange, and crimson. Surrounded by traditional stone houses and magnificent mountain peaks, these villages offer some of the finest autumn photography opportunities in Gilgit-Baltistan while providing an authentic glimpse into the unique culture and hospitality of the Wakhi people.

We then continue to Borith Zero Point, from where we begin a rewarding hike to the impressive Passu White Glacier. The trail offers spectacular views of the glacier, the surrounding peaks, and the iconic Passu Cones, making it one of the most memorable walks of the entire tour.

After breakfast, we set out on one of the most spectacular excursions of the tour as we travel along the northern section of the Karakoram Highway towards the legendary Khunjerab Pass (4,693 m), the highest paved international border crossing in the world. The route passes through the magnificent landscapes of Khunjerab National Park, where vast alpine meadows, rugged mountains, and dramatic valleys create unforgettable scenery. With a little luck, we may also spot wildlife such as the Himalayan Ibex, Blue Sheep, Golden Marmot, or soaring Golden Eagles.

Arriving at Khunjerab Pass, we stand at the border between Pakistan and China while enjoying breathtaking views across the high-altitude plateau. Surrounded by the towering peaks of the Karakoram, this remarkable location is one of the highlights of any journey through northern Pakistan and offers exceptional opportunities for photography.

After another memorable day exploring the northernmost reaches of Gilgit-Baltistan, we return to our hotel in Shishkat.

After breakfast, we bid farewell to the spectacular autumn landscapes of Upper Hunza and begin our journey towards the beautiful Ghizer Valley, one of the most scenic and peaceful regions of Gilgit-Baltistan. Travelling south along the legendary Karakoram Highway, we retrace our route through the Hunza Valley before turning west from Gilgit into the fertile valleys of Ghizer District.

Today's drive is filled with magnificent mountain scenery as we travel alongside glacial rivers, traditional villages, and colourful autumn forests. The route offers countless opportunities to admire the ever-changing landscapes, where golden poplar trees, colourful orchards, and snow-capped peaks create one of the finest autumn drives in northern Pakistan.

As we continue deeper into Ghizer Valley, the scenery becomes increasingly tranquil. Crystal-clear rivers wind through fertile farmland, colourful villages, and wide open valleys that remain largely untouched by mass tourism. After breakfast, we continue our journey through the heart of Ghizer District, exploring two of the region's most spectacular valleys during the autumn season. Following the beautiful valleys of Ghizer District, we travel alongside the crystal-clear Ghizer River, passing colourful villages, fertile farmland, and magnificent autumn forests that make this region one of the most rewarding destinations in Gilgit-Baltistan during the fall season.

As we leave the hidden valleys behind, we continue through the spectacular mountain scenery towards Gilgit, where the landscapes gradually change while remaining framed by the towering peaks of the Karakoram and Hindu Kush. After breakfast, we begin our southbound journey along the legendary Karakoram Highway, leaving the mountains of Gilgit-Baltistan behind as we travel towards Besham. Regarded as one of the world's greatest mountain roads, today's drive is a memorable experience, following the mighty Indus River through dramatic gorges, towering cliffs, and ever-changing landscapes shaped by the meeting point of the Karakoram, Himalayas, and Hindu Kush.

As we descend from the high mountains, we pass through picturesque valleys, traditional settlements, and impressive sections of the Karakoram Highway, with several stops along the way to admire the scenery, stretch our legs, and capture photographs of this remarkable engineering achievement. During the early part of the journey, the colourful autumn landscapes of Gilgit-Baltistan gradually give way to the rugged terrain of northern Pakistan, providing a beautiful farewell to the region.

Following lunch, we continue our drive downstream alongside the Indus River, enjoying spectacular views of deep canyons, rocky mountains, and historic villages before arriving in Besham by late afternoon.

After breakfast, we leave Besham and continue our journey towards Islamabad, following the final stretch of the legendary Karakoram Highway before joining the motorway to Pakistan's capital. As the towering mountains gradually give way to rolling hills and fertile plains, we reflect on the unforgettable journey through the spectacular autumn landscapes of Gilgit-Baltistan.

En route, we visit the ancient city of Taxila, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, where we explore the renowned Taxila Museum and discover the rich history of the Gandhara civilisation through its remarkable collection of archaeological treasures.

Upon arrival in Islamabad, we explore some of the capital's most iconic landmarks. Depending on the available time, we may visit the magnificent Faisal Mosque, enjoy panoramic views from Daman-e-Koh, admire the Pakistan Monument, or discover Pakistan's rich cultural heritage at the Lok Virsa Museum.

Approximately three hours before your scheduled international flight, we transfer to Islamabad International Airport for your onward journey.
