Last updated: August 2026
These Terms & Conditions govern every tour, trek, and private itinerary booked with Hunza Explorers ("we", "us", "our"). By submitting a booking request, paying a deposit, or confirming a tour, you ("the traveller", "you") agree to be bound by them. Please read them carefully before booking.
1. Booking & Confirmation
- A booking is provisional until we confirm availability and receive the required deposit (or full payment for last-minute bookings).
- Once confirmed, we will send you a booking confirmation and, where applicable, a payment receipt.
- It is your responsibility to check that names, dates, and details on your confirmation match your travel documents exactly.
2. Pricing & Payment
- Prices are quoted per person unless stated otherwise and are based on costs, permits, and exchange rates at the time of quotation.
- A deposit is required to confirm most bookings, with the balance due before departure — exact terms are confirmed at the time of booking.
- We accept the payment methods shown at checkout. Bank charges or transfer fees are the traveller's responsibility.
- Prices may change before a booking is confirmed due to factors outside our control (permit fees, fuel costs, exchange rates); we will always inform you of any change before taking payment.
3. Cancellations & Refunds
If you need to cancel a confirmed booking, the following applies unless a different policy was agreed in writing for your specific tour:
- 30+ days before departure: full refund minus any non-recoverable costs already paid to hotels, permit offices, or transport providers.
- 15–29 days before departure: 50% refund of the tour cost.
- Less than 15 days before departure, or no-show: no refund, as guides, vehicles, and accommodation are already committed on your behalf.
- If we have to cancel a tour (e.g. due to insufficient numbers, safety concerns, or events beyond our control), you will be offered a full refund or the option to reschedule.
- Refunds are processed to the original payment method and can take up to 14 business days to appear, depending on your bank or payment provider.
4. Itinerary Changes
Itineraries in northern Pakistan can be affected by weather, road conditions (landslides, flooding), permit delays, or local conditions beyond our control. We reserve the right to modify routes, accommodation, or the order of activities where necessary for safety or practicality, while keeping the overall experience as close to the original itinerary as possible. Where a change significantly reduces the value of your trip, we will discuss options with you, including a partial refund where appropriate.
5. Traveller Responsibilities
- You are responsible for holding a valid passport, visa, and any permits required for your trip, and for arranging travel/medical insurance that covers trekking, high altitude, and emergency evacuation where relevant.
- Please disclose any medical conditions, allergies, or mobility considerations at the time of booking so we can plan appropriately.
- You are expected to follow the reasonable instructions of your guide, particularly regarding safety on treks, river crossings, and high-altitude routes.
- We may, at our guide's discretion, ask a traveller to leave a group activity where their health or conduct puts themselves or others at risk, without refund for the unused portion of the trip.
6. Liability & Force Majeure
- Hunza Explorers acts as an organiser, coordinating hotels, transport, guides, and other third-party services on your behalf. While we carefully vet our partners, we are not liable for their acts, omissions, injury, loss, or delay outside our direct control.
- Mountain travel carries inherent risk (altitude, weather, terrain, road conditions). You participate in treks and outdoor activities at your own risk and are strongly encouraged to hold appropriate insurance.
- We are not liable for delays, cancellations, or changes caused by events beyond our reasonable control, including but not limited to natural disasters, extreme weather, landslides, political unrest, border/permit restrictions, strikes, or government action ("force majeure").
- Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot be excluded under Pakistani law.
7. Photography & Media
We may take photos or videos during group tours for use in our marketing (website, social media, brochures). If you'd prefer not to be included, please let your guide or our office know before the trip begins, and we will respect that request.
8. Intellectual Property
All content on this website — text, photos, itineraries, and branding — belongs to Hunza Explorers or is used with permission, and may not be copied or reused commercially without our written consent.
9. Governing Law
These Terms & Conditions are governed by the laws of Pakistan. Any dispute arising from a booking with Hunza Explorers will first be addressed through good-faith discussion between the parties and, if unresolved, will be subject to the jurisdiction of the courts of Gilgit-Baltistan, Pakistan.
10. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms & Conditions from time to time. The version in effect at the time you confirm a booking will apply to that booking. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page shows the most recent revision.
